Welcome to Chameleon Class - Year 4

Welcome to Chameleon Class!

I am Mrs Brown and I have been teaching at St Ben’s for over 10 years. We are very lucky to have the talented, creative Miss Branton who supports children in the classroom.

Year 4 is an exciting year. We start our year following on from the Bronze Age in Year 3 with the Iron Age all the way to the Normans. As part of our History topics we will study the Celts. There will be a Celt Day where everyone will be encouraged to dress as a Celt and includes baking bread.

After half term we have a great visit planned to the Caerleon Roman Fortress as part of our study of the Romans.

In English we continue to develop reading skills and encourage children to read for pleasure. Each class has a ‘class reader’. A book that is read to the children during school time. We will also focus on writing, practising handwriting skills and writing creatively.

In Maths we learn our times tables through the medium of song. I apologise in advance as you are likely to experience the occasional popular song which just might stay with you for quite a while.

As part of Science and Geography we will be using our fantastic outside space with a focus on the environment and natural world.

If you wish to contact me, please use Classdojo and leave a message. I will endeavour to reply as soon as possible.
