Welcome to Unicorn Class - Year 3

Meet the Teacher

Welcome to Unicorn class, we are a class full of enthusiastic learners. We believe that being able to change and develop is a positive learning behaviour in fact, our class motto is: ‘We love mistakes’.

Mrs Anderson is the class teacher.  She loves teaching children and watching them grow, develop and seeing the potential that all children have to achieve at their own level.

In addition, she loves being outside. In fact she is the Forest School Leader at St Ben’s and she loves teaching shelter building, whittling and team building games.  She also likes to see children being active. As the PE Lead of the school, she has helped to organise activities to keep the children fit and healthy.

Our other adults

We are lucky to have a great helper in Unicorn Class in the shape of Miss Grenter. A self-confessed Harry Potter super fan, Miss Grenter is passionate about music and performance and even runs the Glee club at school. Every year, she and the club delight us with an amazing show covering rock and pop songs.

What we love learning about

We have such a busy year of learning planned.  We will study a range of both fiction and non-fiction texts throughout the year to develop and deepen our understanding of the English Language.

Our Topics include, The Stone Age, The Bronze Age, The Egyptians and Festivals. Our history topic this term was the Stone Age.

Our Science topics this year are humans; including skeletons and muscles, magnets rocks and soil, and light.

We have exciting trips planned to visit a quarry and to visit the world-famous Stonehenge.
